About the role
This respected international firm is rapidly expanding its marine insurance capability, driven by a growing demand for high-quality support in complex liability and cargo claims.
With a reputation on the rise and an increasingly busy pipeline, the team is looking to hire across a range of experience levels - from NQ through to Legal Director.
The work spans the full spectrum of marine insurance and shipping disputes: hull, cargo, marine liability, wet and dry matters, coverage issues, subrogation, and casualty-related litigation. Charterparty disputes, collisions, GA, and drafting matters are part of the regular diet.
While prior marine insurance experience is ideal, it is by no means essential - candidates with strong insurance litigation experience, especially those familiar with court or LMAA arbitration procedure, are encouraged to apply.
Language skills are a bonus, not a requirement. Lawyers from Australia and New Zealand have historically thrived in this kind of role, even with limited shipping exposure, so if you’ve built a strong practice in insurance but want to broaden into marine, you’ll be seriously considered.
For common law-qualified candidates with appropriate experience, sponsorship may be available.
