Latham leads on €13.7bn Verisure IPO, Europe's biggest-ever PE float

Latham & Watkins has advised security company Verisure on its €13.7 billion IPO on Nasdaq Stockholm in Europe’s largest-ever private equity-backed listing.

The deal raised €3.1 billion and marks Sweden’s biggest IPO since 2000.

Latham & Watkins has taken the lead role on Verisure’s blockbuster €13.7 billion IPO in Stockholm, the largest-ever European private equity-backed listing.

The firm advised Verisure and its private equity owner Hellman & Friedman on the deal, which saw the Swiss-based home and business security company raise €3.1 billion. The listing is Europe’s biggest since 2022 and Sweden’s largest since 2000, according to Bloomberg.

Verisure’s shares began trading on Nasdaq Stockholm on Wednesday (8 October).

The company is one of Europe’s largest providers of alarm systems. It was acquired by US investors Hellman & Friedman and Bain Capital in 2011 for a reported $2 billion, with Hellman & Friedman taking full control in 2015 in a deal also led by Latham.

Latham’s team was led by private equity partner and Verisure relationship partner Huw Thomas, alongside private equity partners Katie Peek and David Walker, and London capital markets partners James Inness, Mark Austin and Matt Schneider.

Linklaters acted for the banks, including DNB, Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley. As first reported by Law.com, the cross-border team was led by corporate partner Charlotte Levin in Stockholm, Pam Shores, the firm’s global co-head of ECM, in London and New York, and James Wootton in London.

Swedish firm Vinge also advised Verisure, while Weil represented the management team.
