About the role
A global leader in sports media is looking to add a talented Senior Legal Counsel to its London-based team. This is a rare opportunity to work at the heart of the sports and entertainment industry, advising on some of the most high-profile commercial agreements in the market.
The role will involve:
- Taking the lead on complex sports rights acquisition deals and major partnerships with leading rights holders.
- Negotiating and advising on a broad range of commercial agreements, from sponsorships and hosting/staging arrangements to content production and talent contracts.
- Acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders across the business, supporting strategy on bids, tenders, and post-deal implementation.
- Working closely with international operating companies, external counsel, and cross-functional teams to ensure commercial and regulatory objectives are met.
- Supporting on contentious issues, regulatory developments, and anti-piracy matters impacting the global sports media sector.
About you:
- A qualified lawyer with 8-12 years’ PQE, ideally with a background in commercial, media, or sports law.
- Strong experience negotiating high-value commercial contracts, with the ability to balance legal risk and commercial objectives.
- A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach and the confidence to engage with senior stakeholders.
- A genuine enthusiasm for the sports and media industry.
