Bird & Bird has posted €673 million in revenue for FY25, up 6% - but PEP slipped slightly to €831,000.

The firm remains confident its tech, regulation and innovation-focused strategy and international expansion will help it reach its €1 billion revenue target by 2029.

Bird & Bird has posted a 6% uptick in revenue to €672.6 million (£580.5 million) for FY25, notching its 33rd year of uninterrupted top-line growth. Net profit rose by 3%, though profit per equity partner (PEP) dipped slightly - down less than 1% to €831,000 - after an 8% rise last year.

Strategy

The firm credits the performance to its five-year strategy launched in May last year, which puts tech, regulation and innovation at the centre of its growth plans - a focus it says is keeping demand steady amid global uncertainty.

As part of the strategy, Bird & Bird opened two new offices over the past year: a Riyadh base in May targeting tech, IP and corporate work, and a Tokyo outpost in September last year to tap into Japan’s tech ecosystem.

Additionally, in February, it rolled out AI platform Legora firmwide, joining the growing wave of firms adopting legal AI at scale.

Still, the plan includes an ambitious target to hit €1 billion in revenue by 2029 - a goal that would require an annual growth rate of around 10% over the next four years.

What they said

"Our sights are firmly set on being the leading international law firm guiding organisations through a world being shaped by technology, innovation and regulation", said CEO Christian Bartsch.

"We are one year into our five-year strategy and all our people are pulling together, sharing their deep sector expertise to reach our goal of becoming a €1 billion law firm by 2029. We continue to thrive in tech-related fields, ranging from IP to transactions, despite a challenging economic environment.

"I’m more confident than ever that the culture and values of this firm will continue to drive us to success."
