Orrick adds four more partners to transatlantic finance buildout

Orrick has added four structured finance partners across London and the US, including Polly O’Brien from McDermott in London.
The firm’s hiring drive began with last year's headline-grabbing 37-lawyer raid on Cadwalader.
Orrick has continued its structured finance hiring spree with four partner additions across the US and London, building on last year's headline-grabbing team raid on Cadwalader.
The US firm has hired Victor Liang in New York and Brittany Fox in Austin from Morrison Foerster, John Paul Igoe in Charlotte from Mayer Brown, and will add Polly O'Brien in London from McDermott.
The hires follow Orrick's high-profile structured finance expansion that began last autumn and ultimately saw it recruit a 42-lawyer transatlantic team from Cadwalader.
That move included a leading London CLO team headed by partner David Quirolo, one of the market's best-known structured finance lawyers.
Orrick has continued to add to the London practice since. In April, the firm recruited structured finance partner Suzanne Bell and counsel William Bibby, again from Cadwalader.
London growth
O'Brien joins Orrick after six years at McDermott, having previously practised at Jones Day. She advises clients including hedge funds and private equity funds on fund finance, leveraged finance and private credit transactions.
"We look forward to Polly joining our team here in London as we continue to execute on our plan to build out the premier transatlantic structured finance practice focused on cross-sector, innovative products," said Quirolo.
Leah Sanzari, Orrick's global structured finance group leader, said the latest hires would help the firm “meet unprecedented demand for asset-backed securitization, particularly at the intersection with private credit.”
