Legora, the Stockholm-founded legal AI platform, has raised a $150 million Series C round, valuing the company at $1.8 billion.

CEO Max Junestrand says Legora is seeing "astronomical demand" for its product which makes legal work "easier, more rewarding, and more profitable."

Legal AI platform Legora has raised $150 million in new funding at a $1.8 billion valuation, cementing its status as one of Europe’s fastest-growing AI startups just two years after launch.

The round, led by US investor Bessemer Venture Partners, confirms rumours that emerged a few weeks ago, and more than doubles Legora's previous $675 million at its $80 million Series B in May.

Existing backers ICONIQ, General Catalyst, Redpoint Ventures, Benchmark and Y Combinator also took part in the round.

Rapid growth

Legora says its customer base has surged from 250 to more than 400 since May this year, and now spans over 40 markets - up from 20 earlier this year.

Customers include Linklaters, Cleary, Goodwin and MinterEllison, with the startup saying that tens of thousands of lawyers now use the platform daily. According to Forbes, Legora’s annual recurring revenue has jumped from $4 million to $23 million and is expected to hit $40 million this year.

CEO and co-founder Max Junestrand said the company is seeing "astronomical demand" as lawyers increasingly adopt AI in their work.

Founded in 2023 and headquartered in Stockholm, the startup now employs almost 200 legal experts and tech specialists, and aims to more than double in size over the coming year by setting up additional bases around the world. It currently has offices in London, New York, Denver and Sydney, as well as its headquarters in Stockholm.

Bigger picture

The raise underscores surging investor enthusiasm for legal AI and positions Legora as Europe’s strongest challenger to US-founded Harvey, which reached a $5 billion valuation after its $300 million Series E in June.

Startups in the space have collectively raised more than $2.4 billion globally so far in 2025, according to Crunchbase.

What they said

"Legora is quickly becoming the go-to partner for legal professionals worldwide - making their work easier, more rewarding, and more profitable," Junestrand said.

"We’ve made great progress, but we’re only getting started. Executing our vision will demand relentless focus and hard work from the entire team."
