Revenue rose 19% to £119.2 million in 2024/25, while net profit jumped 30% to £41.6 million.
Joint managing partner Richard Miskella pointed to the firm’s recent expansion into the north of England as a key growth driver.
Lewis Silkin has reported a 19% revenue boost for 2024/25, taking turnover to £119.2 million, while net profit surged 30% to £41.6 million.
The firm, known for its employment, media and tech expertise, also expanded its ranks significantly. Partner numbers rose 15% from 78 to 90 and total lawyer headcount climbed to 312, up from 280 at the end of the previous financial year.
Revenue and profit surge
The results point to Lewis Silkin’s northern expansion strategy paying dividends. The firm opened in Manchester in 2022 and Leeds in 2023, and has kept the momentum going into the current year - most recently unveiling a new Glasgow office just last week, its ninth base overall.
A notable mandate this year saw the firm advise legal AI company Safe Sign Technologies on its sale to media giant Thomson Reuters last August. The startup was founded by former A&O Shearman trainee Alexander Kardos-Nyheim during his training contract. (We spoke to Alexander about the "life-changing" exit earlier this year on The Non-Billable Podcast.)
Meanwhile, internally on the AI front, Lewis Silkin rolled out legal AI platform Harvey to all staff in February, calling it a key step in its push to become a fully tech-enabled law firm.
What they said
Richard Miskella, joint managing partner, said the results were partly due to the firm's geographical expansion across the UK, saying it brought two benefits:
"The first was that clients very generously supported us and gave us a lot more work. The second was that a lot of large employers who are headquartered outside of the South took us really seriously for the first time, and so we’ve actually won a lot of new clients as well.
"But we’re lucky that the areas that we’re super-interested in are hot topics for our clients at the moment and we’re trying to make hay while the sun shines."
