Charles Russell Speechlys has hired Mishcon de Reya’s head of private equity, Nadim Meer.

The move follows a string of recent hires for CRS, including a five-lawyer private client team in Asia and the first corporate tax partner in its Milan office.

Charles Russell Speechlys has hired Mishcon de Reya’s head of private equity as the firm continues to build out its private capital offering.

Nadim Meer joins CRS as a partner in London after 13 years at Mishcon, where he was a corporate partner and head of private equity.

His practice focuses on private equity, M&A, fundraising and growth capital work, with a particular focus on advising founders, management teams, corporates and private capital investors.

Before Mishcon, Meer spent more than seven years at Dundas & Wilson, now part of CMS, where he was a private equity partner. He previously spent a further seven years in the corporate and private equity team at Hammonds, now Squire Patton Boggs.

Private capital push

The hire comes as CRS continues to invest in its private capital and wealth practices internationally.

Earlier this week, the firm announced the hire of a five-strong private client team in Asia from Stephenson Harwood, with Kevin Lee appointed as head of private client in Asia.

And earlier in May, CRS added Paolo Rampulla from Italian firm Advant Nctm as the first corporate tax partner in its Milan office, which opened at the end of 2024 to target the city’s buoyant private capital market.

What they said

Partner David Collins, who leads CRS’s business advisory and transaction services division, said Meer had a “compelling track record in private equity, fundraising and strategic M&A”.

“Nadim’s arrival strengthens our capability in advising founders, management teams and private investors, and we expect him to play a significant role in supporting our clients’ growth ambitions across the UK and internationally,” he added.
