Taylor Wessing becomes latest firm to bet on legal AI platform Legora

Taylor Wessing has partnered with Legora to integrate the AI platform into its operations, rolling out the platform firmwide after a successful pilot.
The partnership is another boost for Legora, which recently hit a $700 million valuation.
Taylor Wessing has become the latest large firm to embrace legal AI platform Legora.
After a successful pilot with over 80 lawyers across several offices, the tech and life sciences-focused firm says it is rolling out Legora across the board.
The platform will be implemented with assistance from Taylor Wessing’s "AI Champions", a group of 30 individuals who will provide tailored training for each practice area.
It is a full-circle moment for Taylor Wessing, which supported Legora (then known as Leya) with its set-up in 2023.
Legora’s rapid ascent
Legora, formerly known as Leya, is an AI-powered platform which markets itself as the world’s first collaborative AI for lawyers. It is designed to streamline legal workflows, offering tools for everything from document review and contract analysis to drafting support and predictive risk management.
The latest partnership is another boost for Legora, which has expanded rapidly in its two-year lifespan.
The Stockholm-based startup was founded in 2023 by Max Junestrand, who took the startup through renowned Silicon Valley accelerator, Y Combinator. In May, the company announced it had raised $80 million in Series B funding, bringing its total valuation to around $700 million.
Legora says the platform now boasts adoption by over 250 law firms across 20 countries. Among its ranks are several major firms, including US heavyweights Cleary Gottlieb and Goodwin, as well as UK firms Mishcon de Reya, Bird & Bird and Addleshaw Goddard.
What they said
Emma Danks, partner at Taylor Wessing, described the partnership as a "step forward in how we use technology to enhance the way we work and the service we provide to our clients", adding: "After assisting Legora at the outset with their set-up in 2023, it is brilliant that we have begun to utilise the AI itself. It’s an exciting development that supports our broader strategy of combining legal expertise with the best tools available".
Legora’s head of UK and Ireland, Alex Fortescue-Webb, said: "Taylor Wessing represents a shift in how we think about empowering lawyers and accelerating the adoption of AI within law firms. They are clear that AI is an integral part of the firm’s future, and a key lever in how they will continue to maintain and extend the exceptional service they provide to their clients".
