Ex-KPMG Law tech head joins Three Points as firm scales AI-led strategy

Three Points Law has hired Usman Wahid as a partner, formerly KPMG Law head of technology and data, and is integrating his legal AI platform VennSpace into a new service line.
The move builds on the firm’s strategy as a technology-enabled boutique, which was founded in October 2025 by two former Michcon de Reya lawyers.
Three Points Law has hired former KPMG Law head of technology and data Usman Wahid as a partner, as the AI-focused boutique scales its tech-led model with a new service offering.
Wahid joins with more than 25 years’ experience including nearly 15 years at BCLP where he was a partner, and will focus on fintech, digital transformation and complex outsourcing projects.
He also co-founded VennSpace, a legal AI platform for procurement, contracting and supply chain relationship management, which will become part of Three Points’ tech stack.
The firm was founded by former Mishcon de Reya lawyers Simon Leaf and Tom Murray in October last year and focuses on technology, sport and commercial work.
Tech offering
Alongside the hire, the firm has launched “Three Points Flow”, a new service line built around the integration of the VennSpace platform.
The platform is designed to support legal and procurement teams by automating multiple stages of transactions using agentic AI and internal knowledge systems.
The firm said this would allow it to expand into larger institutional clients, particularly in-house legal and procurement teams.
Three Points’ model is underpinned by tech and AI. The firm has been using legal AI platform Legora since launch to support tasks like document analysis and workflow automation.
Speaking on The Non-Billable Podcast in December, founding partner Leaf said the firm’s use of AI was already reducing the need for junior lawyers, with pre-defined workflows in place to automate routine tasks such as SaaS licence reviews.
What they said
Wahid said the firm’s model combines “top-level legal experience with some of the most innovative legal tech tools”, aimed at delivering a more seamless and cost-effective service.
Co-founder Leaf said “we seized the moment” calling the hire and tech integration “a real coup” for the firm and its clients.
