Morrison Foerster has hired litigation partner Susana Cao Miranda from disputes boutique Pallas Partners in London.
The hire is MoFo’s seventh lateral in the past year, with the firm highlighting its plans to develop its London mass torts and class action platform.
Morrison Foerster has added senior talent to its London office with the hire of litigation partner Susana Cao Miranda from Pallas.
She brings two decades of experience in commercial and financial litigation, particularly in regulated sectors. She spent less than two years at litigation boutique Pallas, having joined from Linklaters in 2024 where she was a partner.
Her arrival comes after MoFo lost senior litigation partner Jonathan Wheeler to Pogust Goodhead in December, where he joined to lead the high-profile Mariana Dam group litigation against BHP.
The US firm pointed to Cao Miranda’s experience in class actions, collective redress and mass torts when announcing the hire. Litigation co-head Erin Bosman described class actions and mass torts as “fast-growing”, with the firm seeking to build a strong platform in the area.
“Susana is a heavyweight, commercially minded litigator. Her arrival represents a significant strategic investment in our London platform,” she added.
“Susana is a top-class litigator in the London market, with an impressive track record of delivering for clients involved in high-stakes disputes,” said London litigation head Ben Summerfield.
MoFo’s London growth
Cao Miranda’s hire is MoFo’s seventh London lateral in 12 months.
Recent additions include tax partner Freddie Schwier from Davis Polk, alongside private equity partners Eleanor Shanks and David D’Souza from HSF Kramer.
MoFo now has 27 partners in London, according to its website.
