Proskauer extends London hiring spree with fund finance partner

Proskauer has hired DLA Piper fund finance partner Mei Mei Wong as it continues to expand its London partnership.
The US firm has been steadily adding senior City talent and has been one of the most active lateral recruiters.
Proskauer has hired fund finance partner Mei Mei Wong from DLA Piper, the latest addition for the US firm as it continues to grow its London partnership.
Wong spent nearly 15 years at DLA Piper and made partner in 2022. She advises across the full spectrum of fund finance deals.
Fund finance is now firmly embedded in the private capital playbook, giving sponsors quick access to funding for acquisitions and investments without needing to call capital from investors.
“The market is evolving rapidly, with growing demand for lawyers with broad experience across fund finance products,” said Ron Franklin, head of Proskauer’s fund finance group. “Mei Mei is one of those lawyers. Her arrival strengthens our ability to deliver innovative financing strategies to our global client base.”
Proskauer has long been recognised for its funds practice, particularly in secondaries, where its London team advised just this week on a headline transaction between M&G Investments and CVC. The deal saw CVC commit more than $1 billion to M&G’s secondary fund, with M&G moving a portfolio of private equity interests into a new $1.1 billion vehicle it will continue to manage.
Steady London build-out
Proskauer has been quietly expanding its London partner partner ranks. The firm hired 11 partners last year - more than consistently busy rivals including Paul Weiss and Paul Hastings - taking its London partner count to around 60. It has been steadily adding senior talent across leveraged finance and private capital, with private credit a particular focus.
The growth is not just confined to London. Just last week, Proskauer hired three private equity partners in Paris from Hogan Lovells, becoming the latest US firm to add private capital-focused talent in the French capital.
Proskauer maintains a relatively tight European footprint, with offices only in London and Paris.
