Legora entered a multi-year agreement with Chelsea to feature on the sleeves of the club’s training kits.
The deal is one of several struck between legal AI companies and top football teams in the past year.
Legora has entered into a multi-year partnership with Chelsea FC to display its logo on the sleeves of its training kits.
The Swedish legal AI company’s branding will feature on the sleeves of training kits of the premier league club’s women’s, men’s and academy squads.
An official partner of the club, Legora is already being used by Chelsea’s in-house legal function.
“The best teams do the work that truly makes the difference long before they take to the field," said Legora CEO Max Junestrand.
"Chelsea FC operates that way, and so do we. That's what this partnership is about.”
The sponsorship comes amid a period of aggressive expansion for Legora - the startup announced new offices in Paris, Madrid and Milan earlier this month and expanded technical operations in London, setting a target of 700 EMEA region employees in the next six to 12 months.
Legal tech gets sporty
Legora has been expanding its range of sports-focused sponsorships. In April, the company struck a sponsorship deal with baseball star Aaron Judge and the New York Yankees.
Rival legal AI provider Harvey has been following a similar strategy. In March, Harvey became a sponsor for Fulham FC in a deal that saw its branding displayed at the Craven Cottage stadium during men’s and women’s games.
Later that month, it entered into a partnership with French side Paris Saint-Germain which involved the rollout of its platform across the club’s in-house legal operations as well as prominent stadium and broadcast branding.
Legora was valued at $5.6 billion at its most recent funding round. The company has raised more than $800 million since it launched two years ago.
