Linklaters, Slaughters extend M&A hot streak with £14bn Segro takeover

Linklaters, Slaughters and Willkie have secured roles on US logistics property giant Prologis’s £14 billion takeover of Segro, the largest corporate deal of the year in London.

Segro is a FTSE 100 British real estate investment trust that owns warehouses and industrial properties across the UK and Europe, including a data centre portfolio.

The deal will combine two major logistics property portfolios to create a global platform with nearly $270 billion of assets under management.

A win for LSE

Prologis has committed to securing a secondary listing on the London Stock Exchange when the transaction completes, providing a boost for the exchange after a series of major takeovers that will result in leaving the exchange.

Linklaters and Slaughter and May have both featured prominently in that dealmaking. The firms advised on the take-privates of Intertek and Senior, while Slaughters also acted on the £9.9 billion Schroders deal and the Rotork takeover.

Linklaters advised on deals involving ingredients giant Tate & Lyle and facilities group Mitie.

The transaction is expected to complete in the first half of 2027.
