Macfarlanes has promoted four lawyers to partner effective 1 April 2026 across its disputes, private client, finance and employment practices.
The round is smaller than last year’s intake of nine partners and comes as London firms announce their annual promotion cohorts.
Macfarlanes has announced four partner promotions in London in its 2026 round, with the new partners spanning the firm’s disputes, private client, finance and employment practices.
The round is notably smaller than last year’s nine-strong cohort. The promotions take effect on 1 April.
The new partners are:
• Alex Evans - Disputes
• Hannah Kalveks - Private Client
• Ryan Moore - Finance
• Kirti Tiwari-Mehta - Employment
While smaller City firms naturally promote fewer partners each year because of their tighter partnership structures, Macfarlanes’ promotion round is less than half the size of last year’s, when the firm promoted nine lawyers to partner. The firm has about 100 partners in London.
Practice areas
Evans specialises in competition disputes and other complex contentious matters and has acted on a number of class action claims brought under the UK’s collective proceedings regime.
Kalveks advises on a broad range of private client issues including tax matters affecting international clients, HMRC enquiries, asset structuring and governance, and estate and succession planning.
Moore advises credit funds, institutional investors, private capital managers, banks and alternative lenders on domestic and cross-border financing transactions.
Tiwari-Mehta advises on employment law matters including senior appointments and departures, carried interest and co-invest arrangements for private capital clients.
What they said
Senior partner Sebastian Prichard Jones said: “We continue to see exciting opportunities for growth right across our practice areas, and I am delighted to welcome our new partners to the partnership from 1 April 2026.
They come from a combination of areas of traditional strength and more recent growth, and I am confident that our new partners will drive the business forward in the future. I wish them every success in their partnership careers with us.”
