Mayer Brown promotes four in London in 36-partner global round

Mayer Brown has promoted 36 lawyers to partner for 2026 across 16 offices, with Chicago leading on nine promotions.

London and Paris each saw four partners added as the firm’s round focused on litigation, finance and corporate.

Mayer Brown has elevated 36 lawyers to partner, including four in London.  

The round spans 16 international offices and leans heavily into litigation, finance and corporate. Chicago, the firm’s founding office, saw the biggest boost with nine partners. London and Paris followed next, each landing four.

The size of the round is broadly in line with previous years, as are the London numbers, which have typically ranged between three and five. All promotions take effect on 1 January 2026.

Mayer Brown inherited the London office of City firm Rowe & Maw through its transatlantic merger back in 2002 - creating what was then one of the world’s ten largest firms by revenue. The office has more than 90 partners today.
