Slaughter and May has promoted Simon Bartle, Jack Dickie and Mark Gulliford to partner, effective 1 May this year.

This is the firm’s most scaled-back promotion round since 2019, and is half the size of its six-partner round in 2025.

Slaughter and May has promoted three partners for 2026, making this round its smallest since 2019 and half as big as last year’s six-partner lineup.

The new partners are:

  • Simon Bartle – Real Estate and Projects
  • Jack Dickie – Competition
  • Mark Gulliford – Real Estate and Projects

This set of partner appointments is also significantly below Slaughters’ bumper round of ten in 2023.

Practice areas

Bartle and Gulliford both specialise in real estate and projects work, with their promotions coming in the midst of an increasingly competitive battle for corporate real estate talent in London.

Dickie is a competition specialist and has advised on a number of high-profile  cross-border M&A deals and divestments, including the takeover of oil and gas group John Wood Group by Sidara last year.

What they said

“I am delighted that we have elected three new partners,” said senior partner Roland Turnill.

“They each bring valuable expertise and perspective and will make strong contributions to our clients and the firm.”
