High-profile mandates included representing Getty on its claim against Stability AI in one of the world’s first major copyright disputes involving AI. The main trial took place in June.

European focus

The results follow a period of heavy investment in Europe which continued into the current financial year. In July, the firm added a 68-strong team in Portugal - one of the largest European team hires this year - and in May it hired a team of 32 to launch in Poland. Fieldfisher’s international footprint now spans 27 locations across 14 countries.

As its 2022-25 strategy to become Europe’s leading law firm wraps up, the firm is gearing up for a 2025-30 "One Europe" programme aimed at integrating practices and unifying its brand across the continent.
