Gibson Dunn has hired private equity and M&A partner Angus Lennox into its London real estate practice after working at Blackstone and Simpson Thacher.

The move bolsters the firm's real estate capability following a string of senior London hires across its real estate and finance practices.

Gibson Dunn has recruited former Blackstone Europe managing director Angus Lennox as a partner in its London real estate practice, continuing the firm's investment in its European transactional platform.

Lennox advises financial sponsors on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, restructurings and platform transactions, with a particular focus on real estate deals.

Before entering private practice, he served as a managing director in the private equity giant’s European real estate business. He joins Gibson Dunn from Simpson Thacher, which recruited him from Blackstone in 2023. Lennox previously practised at Freshfields.

Building the platform

The appointment forms part of Gibson Dunn's broader push to expand its London real estate practice.

Earlier this year, the US hired PE real estate partner Chris Slack from Jones Day, following the arrivals of highly rated real estate duo Hayden Cameron and Mark Manson-Bahr from A&O Shearman last year.

Eric Feuerstein, co-chair of Gibson Dunn's real estate practice group, said expanding the firm's real estate capabilities in London across both debt and equity remained a strategic priority.
