LegalTechTalk acquired by events giant just three years after launch

LegalTechTalk has been acquired by private-equity events company Hyve, which is betting on legal as a ‘supervertical’.
The founders will continue to lead the business as it prepares to launch the first LegalTechTalk USA event in Miami in 2027.
Private-equity owned events company Hyve has acquired LegalTechTalk, Europe's fastest-growing legal tech conference, marking its entry into the legal sector.
This year's London event attracted more than 5,500 attendees from over 70 countries, including organisations such as Google, Airbnb and Revolut, as well as major law firms and technology companies.
Founded in 2023, LegalTechTalk has quickly established itself as one of the legal industry's leading events, reportedly bringing in approximately £7 million in revenue according to a recent interview in trade publication A Media Operator.
The deal comes just over a month after Latham and Kirkland advised on private equity firm Hellman & Friedman acquisition of Hyve, advised by Linklaters, in a deal reportedly valuing the events business at around £1.3 billion.
The strategy
The acquisition is another sign of legal technology's growing commercial importance, with one of the world's largest B2B events companies betting on the sector's continued expansion amid strong post-Covid demand for in-person corporate events remains strong.
For Hyve, the deal continues a strategy of expanding through acquisitions and scaling brands internationally. Its portfolio already includes brands spanning retail, healthcare, energy and education.
What’s next
The LegalTechTalk founders Bradley Collins and Mikkel Jensen will continue to lead the business following the acquisition. Hyve said it plans to invest in new event formats, expand the hosted meetings programme and support the launch of LegalTechTalk USA in Miami in December 2027.
Co-founder and chief executive Collins said Hyve's experience of scaling premium events internationally made it "the right partner" as the business expands beyond Europe.
Mark Shashoua, chief executive of Hyve, said LegalTechTalk had built a market-leading position in a short space of time through its focus on customers and community, adding that the acquisition marked the group's entry into a new legal "supervertical".
