Willkie has increased London newly qualified solicitor salaries to £180,000, up from £170,000.
The move brings the firm into line with top-paying US firms such as Paul Weiss, Davis Polk, Gibson Dunn and Quinn Emanuel.
US firm Willkie Farr & Gallagher has raised newly qualified solicitor salaries in its London office to £180,000.
The increase represents a £10,000 bump from the previous £170,000 salary and puts the firm at the top end of the London market alongside US rivals including Paul Weiss, Davis Polk, Gibson Dunn and Quinn Emanuel.
The move comes as US firms in the City continue to edge salaries upwards. Earlier this week, Ropes & Gray raised London NQ pay to £170,000 from £165,000.
Willkie has a compact trainee programme, offering seven training contracts each year in its London office. Trainees earn £60,000 in their first year, rising to £65,000 in their second year before qualification.
